LAS PERLITAS & THE COFFEE QUEST

Las Perlitas means ‘little pearls’, and this particular coffee is aptly named by The Coffee Quest for its consolidation of multiple small lots harvested throughout Colombia that are not big enough to export on their own. The Coffee Quest purchases coffees from multiple small holdings, regardless of their size, and combines them to create a larger, export-size lot of incredible quality.

Every iteration of Las Perlitas is intended to be a celebration of small-holder producers who, as The Coffee Quest writes, ‘with great passion and perseverance, achieve a micro-lot quality coffee.’ In particular it's a celebration of the washed coffees. This blend is made up of Caturra and Pink Bourbon, offering a coffee that is both complex yet reassuring.

We have long admired The Coffee Quest’s Las Perlitas lots, and so we are very excited to be offering it for the first time. In the cup we taste the liveliness of the Pink Bourbon through notes of raspberry and Concord grape jam, anchored in the familiarity of Caturra’s caramel flavors.
